Crémones bolts, espagnolettes, iron and bronze, tailored hardware, artisan, hardware craftsman, handcrafted, hardware maker

Whether it concerns the castle from the 18th century, a rural manor or an apartment in the historical center of the city, it is clear that with every single project of renovation or reconstruction, a whole series of questions arise. How to maintain the authenticity of the object? How to deal with architect requirements? What to do to keep the beautiful work of our ancestors? How to respect the historical aspect of the building while using contemporary modern techniques?

Icing on the cake...Decorative hardware for your French windows and doors

Protecting the original facade is a delicate challenge. In addition, the window of the house presents always the soul of the whole building.
That’s why even today, no one can work on historic buildings without the blacksmith’s know-how. Hardware is not just a functional matter. On the contrary. It is the icing on the cake, which gives the integrity to the building and leads the whole impression of the interior.

Do not be fooled into thinking that the current generation has forgotten the original techniques. Our blacksmiths can do anything that the ancestors of this old art craft have done. Right in front of you there is a family business website that has been engaged in manufacturing of the historical hardware for several years.

Successful project? Communication is the key!

We work with joiners, architects, construction managers, and together we make sure that every building gets the best care it deserves.
What is our everyday motivation? We are driven by respect for the past and by faith in the present. We introduce you only the best that our blacksmith’s shop has ever created.
Spoil yourself but also your project.

Day-to-day we focus our attention on various kinds of hardware for buildings from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

Cremones bolts

Among the historically newest products that we are producing are cast cremones bolts. We are moulding them in bronze. Cremone bolt in modern design is still produced today, but it appeared on the windows two centuries ago. Due to several tax rules at the end of the 18th century, the window concept changed completely and so the wrought-iron espagnolette dominating the entire 18th century, was replaced by crémone. It happened nevertheless the espagnolette was considered a big invention at its time. This mechanism enabled opening and closing both leafs and also inner shutters by single movement. Imagine also that most of the windows furnished by espagnolettes measured more than 2 meters.

Espagnolette was a perfect solution. Here again the espagnolettes are associated with a new technical design of the windows. This time new conception allowed to remove the central brick wall present throughout the 17th century. At the time of the walled partitions, each window and shutter table were closed separately by means of a plug or latch.
Besides these historical mechanisms, we also produce various kinds of hinges. Both locking and screwing. Window, door and window hinges.

Modern fittings in old French design

No need to despair if you have modern fittings on your windows. Everything can be adapted. In our blacksmith’s shop all hardware pieces are tailored. We are increasingly making false espagnolettes and false cremones. It works simply. The modern mechanism is hidden behind the traditional handmade product in accordance with the style in which the building was built. It is not only functional but also very pretty.

Do you have any questions? Do you want to know more? Write down your needs and send it to us with photos or drawings of your project.
Together we will find the best solution for every window and door you have!

Our blacksmith’s shop

The family company was founded on impulse of Mr. Lubos Hybrant in the 1990s. He has always been enthusiastic about history, traditional craft and work as such. With its knowledge, greatinsight and know-how, every single order is continually brought to the finish.

His son, Lubos Hybrant junior, follows in his footsteps. With his youthful energy and fresh look at the subject, the company has acquired not only professional photos, new websites, but he pushed through other initiatives also. Due to its knowledge of applications including drawings and modeling tools, our hardware is tailored with the maximum accuracy. Installation of our products can be made on any windows and doors. Accurate drawings have also opened the opportunity to cooperation across Europe.

Representation in Lyon

Moreover since most of our projects relate to France, we have our representation there. The daughter of Mr Hybrant, Romana lives in historical city of Lyon, the second largest conurbation in France. From this strategic position, she is regularly meeting clients across the hexagon. Due to her language skills and empathy, she knows precisely what the project needs. She will be happy to answer all your questions.

More than family ties...

It is not only family ties that connect us together, we are a great team. We care about people when dealing with vendors, working in the workshop, discussing with joiners and architects and unconditionally in communicating with our customers.

handcrafted hardware for French windows and doors, espagnolettes and crémones bolts, all tailored, designed to measure

We have the personal experience with renovating a former farm which was built in the folk architecture of the early 20th century in the Czechoslovakia (now Czech republic).. The compound was abandoned and dilapidated for a long time. The farm was waiting impatiently for new owners. Today Mr. Hybrant and his wife spend every free time on minor and more extensive restorations. Step by step they repaired the roof, laid new floors, exchanged windows and made a new fence. The front was rejuvenated and the interiors filled with furniture and flowers. Now part of the building is used for recreation and reception of family and friends, and in the second part there are spaces where every day the iron turns into perfect work under the hands of our experienced blacksmiths.
And now the question is whether the shoemaker goes barefoot? Come and see yourself.

And our products? These are all over France and other countries.

During our existence, we have gained the trust of many clients and together with joiners and architects, we have realized dozens of projects.
